SIME keeps on strengthening its collaboration with leading manufacturers of machines and systems in the Oil & Gas sector.

Last November, Goriziane E&C commissioned us a particularly challenging project, resulting in the delivery of more than 300 items between December and February. The supply included Main RIOs, On-Board RIOs, Junction Boxes, and a PLC control panel, mainly manufactured in AISI 316 stainless steel.

The units are intended for the upgrade of the pipe handling system of a vessel engaged in offshore pipeline laying operations, an application that requires high standards of quality and reliability.

The project required strong coordination between SIME’s workshop and technical department, as well as close cooperation with the Goriziane team and the end customer, who visited SIME several times to monitor the project progress and attend the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).

These were particularly intense months, also coinciding with the Christmas holiday shutdown period, but the team successfully achieved the goal by completing a complex project characterized by strict standards and demanding deadlines.
